Ten Years Later

I popped over to Der Alte's blog today and found him reflecting upon the 10th anniversary of his blog. This prompted me to see how long I had been blogging about the Duchy of Tradgardland and diverse matters. Much to my surprise it was June 2007 that it all began! It was long ago and far away, so much...
Blogging has added much to my hobby and life and I am glad to have other's blogs to read too.

1688

Around the early 80s I got these-
I looked with enthusiasm at the Warrior Miniatures Charles II period 25mm figures in the window of their shop in Glasgow. Alas I never bought any. What I did do was decapitate loads of Minifigs 25mm GNW Russians and stick on wide brimmed heads ( possibly Thessalian ancient?) to get the look. It was fun at the time.
The other day this arrived-
I have not had time or energy to do it justice but I am very impressed  indeed. A visual delight and well written. Once more it has fanned the flames of enthusiasm for the "might have been" battles of 1688 on English soil. Combined with "The Pikeman's Lament" I am tempted to give them a go but which scale- 15mm,20mm or 28mm?

Army Black in 40/45mm semi flats

Trying to eat into the Lead Mountain  by basing/painting as a distraction tonight. These are some homecast  semi flat figures which belong to the army of Army Black.
Apart from a couple of figures cooking supper al fresco with a large cauldron over an open fire with billowing steam these are all I have. If anyone would like to swop/sell me a few more cavalry and  infantry please be in touch as I would like to finish this little army.

Update 2

I am glad to see August gone. Often it seems like we are all ,on and off,  just waiting for Jan's anniversary. The 30th passed as well as could be expected,I can hardly believe it is two years now!
On the hobby front I have done little but thought more. I bought some N gauge chalets etc to use as wargames scenery. This included a church identical to one which I had as a boy. Here it is with firstly some 1/72 scale stuff and then with 25/28mm-
I'm happy with the 1/72 but not so sure about the 25/28mm.What do you think?
Today, whilst out on an errand I popped into a charity shop and got these-
Sheer nostalgia in book form and a good family game if online reviews are to be believed- not bad for seven pounds the pair.
